Mangalore situated in the west coast of India has an elevation of about 20 metres from the sea level. During the day time the city experiences moderate winds and at the night time it’s very gentle. Mangalore has a tropical monsoon climate and is greatly influenced by the Arabian sea. It receives good rainfall during the months from May to October. Humidity is maximum during May, June and July. The months from December to February is very pleasant when the humidity is the lowest.
This season is followed by the summer starting from the month of March. Then comes the monsoon season following the summer when the city is very hot. An average rainfall of up to 4000 mm. The rainfalls end by the month of September with mild showers in October.
Summers are hot and humid and make travel hugely uncomfortable for the travellers. Since the summers are very hot cotton clothing is preferred and woollen wears are most preferable during the winters.
The time between October to April is a great time to visit Mangalore since the weather is cool and climate is favourable.
