The Hanuman Mandir or Mahavir Mandir holds the distinction of being the second most visited religious shrine in North India after the Maa Vaishno Devi shrine. The famous idol of Sankat Mochan presides in this temple with devotees coming from far and wide to pay their obeisance. Tuesdays and Saturdays are considered to be auspicious for worshipping Lord Hanuman. The temple is witness to a huge rush of people especially during Ram Navami and New Year celebrations. Estimates show that an average of about one lakh per day is obtained as offerings in the temple.
