The Liberation monument marks the liberty of Kuwait from its Iraqi colonial powers. It the highest tower in the world and is amongst the most important Kuwait attractions. Al-Qurain House, located in the Qurain housing area, is a site of gory battle between Iraq and Kuwait, just before liberation, now converted into a museum, devoted to those who laid down their lives. Even the Iraqi tank, mounted on the Jahra Gate, around the end of Fahd Al-Salem Street is a reminder of the idiocy of the war. Also another monument situated in Soor Street, near the main doorway of Ministry of Information, shows a walkthrough illustrative display of scenes from the Iraqi occupation.
