Situated at the nominal distance of 11 kms from Mysore, the Lalitha Mahal Palace is sited at the pinnacle of hillock. In 1921, this magnificent two-storied palace was constructed by the Maharaja Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV and he chose the place for the construction which is lying in between the vast expanded lush green gardens. Actually, the palace is one of the most-like edifices in Mysore being constructed in Renaissance style architecture designed by the Mumbai architect named E. W. Fritchley. Though the motto for constructing this royal palace was to give special grant to the regal guests but today, the palace was converted into luxury hotel with complete maintenance.
