Kanaka Durga Temple, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh - A Hindu Temple located on a hill top
Nestled amidst the fantastic surroundings at the top of Indrakiladri Hill overlooking river Krishna, this temple is a much sought after religious destination. Dedicated to Goddess Kanaka durga, this Hindu temple is said to be built by Arjun after obtaining the Pasupathastra from Lord Shiva at this place. The presiding deity of the temple is Kanaka Durga who is believed to be a manifestation of Durga and is considered as the Goddess of power, benevolence and wealth. Along with the main deity, the temple also houses several idols of other Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Various festivals such as Saraswati Puja, Navaratri and Theppostsavam are celebrated here with great pomp and show and during the festivity the entire premises holds a huge crowd of devotees from all the corners of the country.
