Located at the banks of River Shipra, Kaliadeh palace temple reflects an awesome example of Persian architecture. There are two Persian inscriptions engraved on the pillars of the palace’s corridor that depict the visit of Emperor Akbar and Jahangir to this beautiful place. The island- like place blessed with immense natural beauty of ancient Ujjain and the captivating landscapes followed by the cascading river on both the sides of the palace offers a picture perfect ambience for the tourists. However, the Pindaris destroyed the palace which was again restored by Madhav Rao Scindia in 1920 and since then it has been a famous place of interest for the tourists in Ujjain.
