Constructed in 1905 for the eldest daughter of Maharaja Chamaraja Wodeyar, Jayalakshmi vilas Mansion is not less than an architectural marvel that gives you complete idea of talent of that era. After the refurbishment of the palace in 2000, the control of entire palace went into the hands of Mysore University. At present, the Mansion comprises of a Folklore museum and a research center. Other attraction of this palace is its edifice shaped in three-wing having a series of Corinthian and ionic columns. Basically, the “First Rajkumari Mansion” consists of 125 rooms, 287 doors and 300 windows covering an area of more than 6 acres. Therefore, don’t even think to miss its visit!!
