Jatayu Para, Kollam, Kerala - A huge rocky hillock

Jatayu Para is a huge rocky hillock located at the village of Chadayamangalam, around 30 km from Kollam. The legend says that during the period of Ramayana, a mythical bird named Jatayu collapsed on this rock after while he was trying to save Sita from the kidnap of Ravana. There is also a small temple near the rock which can be accessed through climbing steep steps. The place is also a great place for the trek enthusiasts to enjoy trekking across the steep mountains.
