Gopi Talav is a small beautiful water body and is surrounded by yellow sand which is called as Gopi Chandan. This sandal sand is used to make tilak on the Lord by the devotees. The place also holds a religious significance as it is said that it was here that the gopis of the nearby villages came to see Lord Krishna when he was in Dwarka. It is also believed that it was the place where Lord killed Bhanumasura and released 16000 princesses from there who were prisoned by the demon. And the place got its name from a princess named Gopi who wanted to marry Krishna. This mythological site is located at the route to the Beyt Dwarka and is a beautiful place to be seen during your visit to Dwarka.
