In 1997, marks the significantinstance of the comeback of Hong Kong, the previous British colony to the People’s Republic of China, and the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).In festivity, China’s Central Government offered a gilded bauhinia figurine to Hong Kong. The statuette was placed in the square next to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in front of the Wan Chai water's edge.This site is now called Golden Bauhinia Square. The testimonial is twenty meters tall and is created with 206 overlying stone tablets.  Each tablet signifies for a year during the era 1842 to 2047.
