Dukhang is a beautiful and captivating shrine in Ladakh which was said to be constructed by Kal-Dan-Shes-Rab in the 11th century. There are two elaborately carved doorways with carvings of tiny Bodhisattvas through which the visitors enter the huge courtyard. The major attraction of this shrine is the huge image of Vairocana which is surrounded by four beautiful images of the manifestations of Lord Buddha. The walls of the temple are exquisitely decorated with colorful paintings and murals that add to the beauty of the interior architecture of the shrine.
