Deeg Water Palace is one of the most well preserved and proportioned palace complex and is a wonderful place to see in the tourists’ itinerary in Bharatpur. It was commissioned by Raja Surajmal to ward off the heat during the hot summer months. Surrounded by several beautiful fountains, green gardens, trees, shrubs and two water tanks, it is a wonderful place to watch in the town. One of the most prominent buildings in the palace is Keshav Bhavan which is placed on an octagonal base. It has five arches with an arcade that runs round the interior of the pavilion over a canal having thousands of water fountains. The colorful water here sprayed from the fountains and jets create a monsoon like ambience which looks simply gorgeous. Blessed with numerous beautiful gardens and splendid palaces, the entire complex of the Deeg Water Palace is a marvel of engineering skill.
