Budapest Museum of Fine Arts, Hungary - Scenic Beauty

Art Gallery, Monuments, Museum

Apart from the National Gallery, the Museum of Fine Arts is the most significant and ample art collection in Budapest and one of the biggest galleries with works by old masters to be found anywhere in Europe. Its widespread collection of Italian, Spanish and Dutch paintings enjoys an international status. The collections are housed in a late, but nonetheless "classical" 19th C building with long rooms for the superior paintings, cabinets for smaller and more intimate items, together with architecturally appealing and individual rooms such as the Renaissance Hall. The Regional Gallery, as it was then well-known, was first housed in the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
