Black Canyon Gunnison National Park, USA - A national park in Colorado with stunning miles of canyons

Trekking, Scenic, Rock Climbing, Mountaineering, Hiking, Bungee Jumping

The Black Canyon of the Gunnison River is one of Colorado's, and certainly the West's, most breathtaking places. A vibrant testament to the powers of corrosion, the canyon is approximately 2,000 feet deep. At its narrowest summit, it spans 1,000 feet at the rim and only 40 feet at the bottom. The steep angles of the crags make it difficult for sunbeams to fully break through during much of the day, and ever-present shadows layer the canyon walls, leaving some places in almost long-lasting darkness. The park protects some of the deepest and most stunning miles of canyon and offers wonderful opportunities to spend time outdoors. No wonder it's named as the "Black Canyon."
