Birla Mandir, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh - Panoramic view of the twin cities

Picnic, Temple

This Hindu temple was built by the Birla foundation and is dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara. Built entirely of white marble, the temple architecture is a blend of South Indian Rajasthani and Utkala temple architectures.  The temple offers a magnificent panoramic view of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The magnificently built temple is on the southern side of Hussain Sagar Lake. Inside the temple preside consorts of Lord Venkateshwara, and Padmavati and Andal are housed in separate shrines along with deities of Shiva, Shakti, Ganesh, Hanuman, Brahma, Saraswati, Lakshmi and Saibaba. These purely white temples are in several places in India, all of which are known as Birla Mandir.
