Basilica De Bom Jesus is an important destination of Goa. Inspired by the Church of St. Paul it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. One of the oldest churches in Goa, the church is one of the best examples of baroque architecture in India. Constructed in 1605, the church houses the tomb and mortal remains of St Francis Xavier who is considered as the patron saints of Goa. Even after more than 400 years, the body of the saint is still in very good condition. Built in Portuguese style, the architecture of the church is outstanding.
