Auniati Satra is another renowned Satra in Majuli which was established by Niranjana Pathakdeva in 1653. This Satra is known for the Paalnaam and Apsara form of dance. Paalnaam is an important religious festival of the Satra and is celebrated in the month of November. The prayers performed in the Satra hall continue from morning to evening and this ritual has been happening from the last 350 years continuously. In addition, several other festivals like raas-leela, holi, bohag bihu and Janmashtami etc are also celebrated. The Auniati Satra is also known for its rich collection of Assamese antiquities, handicrafts and traditional jewelry.
