Located in Amer, the Amer Fort is at 11 kilometers from Jaipur. Amer Fort pronounces as Amber Fort and popularly known as Amer Palace and is situated on high hill was named by Meenas king Raja Alan Singh Chanda which was later occupied by the KachhawaRajputs.  The architecture of the fort is an amalgamation of Hindu and Rajput elements. It has large ramparts, and a series of gates. One can have an overview of the Maota Lake which is at its forefront. The complex is built with red sandstone that creates an artistic atmosphere.  At the entrance, there is also a temple dedicated to Sila Devi.
