Alamgir Mosque is also one of the main attractions for tourists in Varanasi and a holy place for all the Muslims from the country. This unique and enticing mosque was built by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The location of this mosque is a great source of attraction in itself as it is a very big structure being placed on the River Ganges’ banks. Formerly, there was a temple of Lord Krishna in place of this mosque but later on, in the ruling period of Mughals, it was destroyed and this mosque was formed here. One can see the spectacular views of Panchganga Ghat from this mosque and the architectural style of this mosque is a perfect blend of Hindu and Persian style.
