Adam’s Bridge holds a historical significance as it is considered to be the place which was constructed by Lord Rama with the monkey sena to reach Lanka and hence also known as Rama Setu. According to an Islamic legend, it is said that Adam used this bridge to reach Adam Peak situated in Lanka. Originally, is a chain of beautiful coral reefs and sand banks connecting India with Sri Lanka. This is a naturally made bridge which consists of rocks, reefs, sandbanks and small islands. Beginning from the Dhanushkodi tip in Pamban Island in India and ending at Mannar Island in Sri Lanka. The Adam’s Island is 30 miles long and it separates the Gulf of Munnar from the Palk Strait.
