Founded by Maharao Khengarji, Kutch Museum is the oldest museum in Gujarat. The museum houses the largest collection of Kshatrapa inscriptions which are believed to be from the 1st century AD. It is considered to be a large warehouse of ancient arts and artifacts reflecting the rich culture and history of bygone era of the state. Here you can find a rich collection of ancient paintings, coins, musical instruments, script inscriptions, statues and sculptures. Moreover, one of the sections of the museum exhibits the tribal art and artifacts showcasing the rich tribal tradition and culture of the region.
