Located in the Rann of Kutch in a vast area of around 7,505 sq km, Kutch Desert Wildlife Sanctuary is a stunning destination to see a large variety of mammals and exotic bird species at a glance. The entire sanctuary region is covered up with forests, wastelands and territorial waters of the Arabian Sea. The sanctuary is a home to a variety of rare wildlife, reptiles, avifauna and birds. Moreover, it also serves as a breeding ground of the Greater Flamingo. It is a great place for the wildlife lovers to spot different species such as hyenas, sambhars, wild boar, pale hedgehog, Small Indian porcupine, Indian fox, monitor lizards, snakes and Star tortoise. Besides, it also inhabits a good rang of avifauna species including stork, crow, osprey, vulture and sparrow.
