Knuckles Mountain, Sri Lanka - The Knuckles Mountain Range
The Knuckles Mountain Range obtains its name from a series of horizontal folds and summits in the west of the massif which look like the knuckles of tighten fist when observed from a distance in the Kandy region. While this name was consigned by early British reviewer, the Sinhalese inhabitants have customarily referred to the area as Dumbara Kanduvetiya connotation mist-laden mountain range. The whole area is typified by its arresting scenery frequently negligee in thick coats of cloud but on top to its artistic price, the region is of great technical curiosity. It is a climatic microcosm when compared to the rest of Sri Lanka.
