Virtually unharmed except for trails and some quaint mountains huts, the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch is the biggest profoundly glaciated zone in the western Eurasia. Situated between the cantons of Berne and Valais, the site comprises an immense frozen rocky land casing 35,000 hectares, with the longest glacier in the Alps, the Aletsch, stretching for 23 kilometers.
