Jhula Devi Temple is an ancient temple that was built in the 8th century and is dedicated to Goddess Durga. Located at a distance of 7 km from the town, the temple is a great place of devotion and attraction for the devotees. It houses a cluster of holy bells tied to the temple walls which are believed to fulfill the wishes on being runged and you can hear the clangs of these bells from a long distance. The mythological tale behind the temple suggests that it was built to seek the protection of Goddess Durga for the animals of this place. It is assumed that a shepherd of the region founded this idol of Durga and later a temple was built at this place. On the top of this temple, the Ram Mandir is also located on the Kumaon hill.
