About 30 km to the south of TaunggyilaysInle Lake which is the Second Largest Lake in Myanmar. The lake itself is about 900meters above sea-level and filled with floating islands. The main lake town is NyaungShwe (Yaunghwe), 11 km from the ShweNyaung junction on the Heho-Taunggyi road and 1 km from the lake- even though the main part of town is a bit further from the lake. The best time to visit lnle Lake is during the Phaung Daw U festival or in November and December when the water lilies are blossoming and the cloudy Blue Mountains neighbouring the lake are not all that hazy.
