“Kup” that means a well and “Gyan” means wisdom, therefore, this spot in Varanasi completely justifies the meaning of its name – Well of Wisdom. Also, renowned as Gyan Vapi Well, this well is situated at the entrance of the Kashi Vishwanath temple. Gwalior Rani Baiza Bai constructed this wonderful and deep well in 1828 AD. The well is famous for its water that offers the spiritual illumination and the porch is considered to be highly respected. The well is well covered with the help of fabric and a stone screen.
