Ettumanoor Temple is one of the oldest temples in Kerala which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple has a history dated back to thousands of years ago and is said that the great sage Vyasa and Pandavas offered prayers at this place. It was constructed in 1542 AD and is beautifully decorated with the mural paintings of Dravidian period. One of the most famous paintings of the temple is a fresco named as Pradosh Nritham and is renowned as one of the most outstanding paintings in India. It holds an annual Arattu festival in the month of February- March and draws a number of devotees to the premises.
