Drass is a small township lying in the centre of the valley and 60 km west of Kargil on the road to Srinagar. It is the second coldest inhabited place in the world and the valley starts from the base of the Zojila pass. The place is the gateway to the Himalayas. Drass remains snow-bound almost throughout the year. In 1999, the Kargil war was fought here. There are few prime attractions of the place that should be visited while you are in Drass. Some of the major attractions of this place are Zoji La, Puga Valley, which should be included in your list.
