Dhekiakhowa Bornamghar is an important religious destination in Jorhat which was established in the 16th century by saint Madhvadeva, a disciple of Srimanta Sankardeva at a village named Dhekiakhowa. During the month of Bhado i.e. in August- September, a number of devotees visit this religious site. This place is mainly known for its Vaishnavism teaching and works for the social and cultural upliftment of the locals in the region. It also plays a striking role in the progress of Eka- sarana religion and teaches the natives to live with unity and harmony with one another.
