Chowmahalla Palace means four palaces and is also known as Chowmahallat. Chahar in Persian means four and Mahal in Arabic mean places. The Palace belonging to the Nizams of Hyderabad state was the official residence of the Nizams. The Chowmahalla Palace was the seat Asaf Jahi dynasty. The construction of the palace began in the 18th century and it continued over the decades because of its unique architectural styles.  The palace has its own style and elegance that have helped it to achieve the prestigious UNESCO Asia Pacific Merit award for cultural heritage conservation. This heritage building reflects traditions of the Nizam era.
