Chamunda Devi Temple is one of the prominent religious attractions in Palampur and is dedicated to goddess Durga or Chamunda. Located at the holy banks of River Baner, the temple is set amidst panoramic mountain ranges covered with dense forests. This popular shrine is considered to be 700 years old and is among 51 Shakti Peethas of Devi Durga, hence is a highly revered religious destination for the locals and the tourists in Palampur. A beautiful small water pond is located inside the temple believed to have holy and medicinal properties. A cave like scoop is also located in the back of the temple representing the Shivalingam and the paintings of various gods and goddesses are also housed in the complex.
