Cape Point is a stunning, slender finger of land, enclosed in endemic fynbos and home to charming coves, beaches, undulating green hills and valleys.Cape Point falls within the Cape Floral Region, a World Heritage Site, and is the most southerly point within the Good Hope segment of Table Mountain National Park. The Cape Floral Region is one of the richest areas for plants in the world – it is home to almost 20% of Africa’s flora. Most visitors to Cape Point endeavour up a steep path to the Old lighthouse constructed in 1860, which was too often hidden in clouds so a newer one was erected in 1914. Perched further down the crags, it’s the most prevailing lighthouse in South Africa.
