Canyonlands National Park, USA - A geological wonderland in Utah known for colorful canyons

Scenic, Rock Climbing, Caves, Bird Watching

Canyonlands National Park, Utah's second biggest national park, is a primordial geological wonderland preserving hundreds of colourful canyons, buttes, fins, arches, spires and hoodoos. The centrepiece of the park is the two great canyons engraved through flat layers of sedimentary rock by the Colorado and Green rivers, which meet here in Canyon lands. The park is separated into 4 regions -- Island in the Sky, The Needles, The Maze and Horseshoe Canyon -- only two of which are reachable by highway. These 572 square miles of Great Basin Desert wilds contains mainly unpaved roads and undeveloped tracks.
