Bodhi Tree is one of the most famous locations in Bodhgaya as it is the sapling of the original Bodhi tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment. In earliest times, the original tree was burnt down and King Ashoka’s daughter took away a branch of this tree to Sri Lanka. It is one of the holiest and oldest Buddhist shrines. Grown up to a height of 80 feet, the Bodhi tree is said to be 122 years old and a great place for attraction for the visitors.
