Birla Planetarium, Kolkata, West Bengal - Being resemblance to the Buddhist Stupa at Sarnath
Birla Planetarium is famously called as Taramandal and it is considered to be the largest planetarium in Asia. This planetarium has been opened by the former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru at 1963. The structure of this planetarium will resemble the Buddhist stupa at Sarnath. You can see the space models of the famous astronomers, beautiful paintings in the gallery. Other than Monday all days the programs will be carried out based on the technical theories and inventions in three languages such as English, Bengali and Hindi up to nineteen hours. Optionally programs will be accomplished on Oriya, Tamil and Gujarati languages too.
