Bhavani Mandap, Kolhapur, Maharashtra - Being one of the main historical sites
BhavaniMandapis one of the main historical sites of Kolhapur. It is among the prime ancient places and also very big monument. The building was constructed having 14 squares but at present only 7 squares could be witnessed and it was just because of heavy damage during the invasion done by Sadakhan in the year 1813. This historical site is very spreaded and it also houses Rajwada Police Station, Maharashtra Battalion and Motibag Gymnasium. According to past legends, Abasaheb Shahu Maharaj got died at this site and therefore, to memorize him, there is a tall statue of him. Therefore, the place is not to be missed one in Kolhapur!
