Built in 1894, this beautiful museum is one of the most impressive museums in India. The picture gallery exhibits an extensive collection of some of the wonderful original paintings made by the British painter Turner. The museum houses a variety of artifacts associated with the history, archeology and geology of the old town of Baroda and also the personal collection pieces of Maharaja Sayajirao III. The prime attraction to be seen in the museum is the Egyptian mummy and a blue whale skeleton that catches the attention of every visitor that enters the place. Other treasure inside the museum includes beautiful miniatures of Mughal time, fully fledged fallory of Tibetan art, a Persian version of Mahabharata and Akota bronzes from the 5thcentury AD.
