Barnawapara Sanctuary, Raipur, Chhattisgarh - Delight for Wildlife lovers
Perched at the Mahasamund District, only 85 kms away from Raipur airport, Barnawapara Sanctuary is spreaded over an area of 245 sq. kms. The sanctuary is having flat and hilly landscape which seems quite attractive. Most of the vegetation found in this sanctuary is tropical dry deciduous forests including Bamboo, sal, teak, terminalia, etc. Among the wildlife residing in this sanctuary, the main animals are the black bucks, barking deer, monkey, leopard, bison, chinkara, chital and much more. Beautiful bird species are also there in this sanctuary which includes peafowl, woodpeckers, parrots, bulbul, egrets, white rumped vultures, herons and many more.
