The region of Alicante is positioned on the eastern coast of Spain and is part of the Costa Blanca, stiff between Murcia in the south, and Valencia in the north. The conurbation of Alicante is on the shoreline between Benidorm and Elche. The city’s original name “Lucentum” means “City of Light”. It is one of the oldest cities and its history dates back to prehistoric times with relics being found here from the third century before Christ. Today, Alicante is a one of the most thronged tourist destinations, thanks to its marvelous beaches, exceptional climate and renowned facilities.
