Albert Hall Museum is the oldest museum of the state and also is the State museum of Rajasthan state. In the year 1887, the museum was opened for public. This museum is situated in Ram Niwas garden which is a fine example of Indo-Saracenic architecture. The Albert Hall museum is also known as the Government Central Museum. The museum has a good collection of artifacts, paintings, carpets, ivory items, stone items, metal sculptures and colorful crystal works. It was decided by Madho Singh II that this museum should be devoted to the art of Jaipur. The foundation stone was laid in 1876 and the name was given after King Edward VII.
